Internet Telephony (VOIP) fights with the classic, wire telephony and with the mobile one to become no 1 choice in the near future.

VOIP use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls. And so it is the most inexpensive type of telephony we have. Internet telephony software provides free telephone calls anywhere in the world.

The Internet Telephony has one big disadvantage: it does not provide the same quality as direct telephone connections.

A lot of gadgets were developed to improve the quality and improve the usage of VOIP.

One interesting gadget I have found is the USB recording internet phone.

The USB Recording Internet Phone connects to your notebook or desktop computer and gives you the possibility to make telephone calls over the Internet free of charge.

It uses Skype and is one of the smallest gadgets of this type. It has no number keypad because you will not need one (you will use the computer to make the call).
