Falx Air Vehicles are planning to use hybrid-electric motor and inbuilt solar arrays rather than fuel and to revolutionize the aircraft market.

Falx is based in the United Kingdom and combines the talents of designers that are specialists in design and environmentally friendly systems for the mass market.

Falx has showed the full-size prototype at the Farnsworth air show.

The prototype is a a compact single and double-seater tilt-rotor aircraft which targeted only use 10 liters of fuel per hour airborne.

The prototype uses aerospace-certified composite materials. The single seater weighs in at only 350kg, with the twin-seat version weighing 405kg.

Using both hybrid electric propulsion, ergonomic design and modern materials, Falx is able to realise the dream of small vertical take-off and landing air vehicles.

The quiet electric operation should make these small, light and manoeverable aircrafts ideal for military use. Of course they can be used bi civilians also.

With these vehicles Falx wants to open a new era in aviation design and functionality.

There is a question: Falx Air Vehicles can be the future of transportation in few decades? Instead of buying a car buying a small flying vehicle.

Laptops

The main advantage of the laptop computers is portability. They are easy to carry and deposit. The idea was to take your computer and use it to work or have fun everywhere you like.

The problem with the laptops is the battery life. For a normal laptop the battery is enough for 30-45 minutes of operating. The solution is to have multiple batteries or to use the laptop indoor and connect it to a power supply.

Having multiple batteries is not a solution because they are heavy and add extra weight, so you can use the laptop outdoor for too long unless you have a generator or something similar

Another advantage is the compact size. You can use a laptop in a office and still have room for the rest of your stuff (paper, pens, contracts, invoices and so on).

Cons

• they don’t have as much power as a desktop
• the battery life is short

Desktops

There are several advantages to have a desktop computer. The main is power. Desktops are way more powerful like laptops or mini computers.

The second advantage (between desktops and laptops): you can use huge monitors like 24 inch ones (I have seen some 40 inch LCD’s - just in pictures for now). To have this display of a laptop will be so big the laptop will be extremely heavy.

One of the most important trend in our day is miniaturization so on the long run the mini computers and the laptops have their chance to replace the desktops. Desktops fan do not despair as long as desktops will have the power and speed advantages will still be in store.
